If the laylines of the gaming universe shuddered and strained at the announcement of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, then they probably blew a few rivets today after the announcement of the new Sonic the Hedgehog RPG currently under development by... (wait for it...) BioWare. The as-of-yet-unnamed title was announced today in a press release (available for online viewing here). Nintendo DS will be the system of choice -- the launch date, 2008.
